Couple Finds Comfort and Convenience
at The Courts at Tapestry by ASTORIA HOMES™
For Jim and Ann Keith, their
home at The Courts at Tapestry
is a page in yet another chapter
of their lives together. The
couple, 54 and 48 respectively,
have turned their home into
an "Empty Nester's" paradise
as their two kids Katie, 20,
and Mike, 18, have flown the
coup.
"Our daughter is in
Africa and our son is at school
in Texas," said Ann, a
nurse with Life Care Center. "This
is our first time on our own
and we wanted a home that complemented
that."
Originally from Amarillo,
Texas, career pursuits brought
the couple to Las Vegas. They
knew they wanted a fabulous
home that was convenient
for work and matched their busy lifestyle.
"Living in Northwest
Las Vegas was a no-brainer
as far as the proximity to
my job and Ann's," said
Jim, a nuclear operations manager
with Bechtel Nevada. "During
my first visits to Las Vegas
the billboard on the highway
promoting ASTORIA HOMES'™ Tapestry
community always caught my
eye. I took the tour and immediately
contacted Ann with what I found."
Pleased by what they saw during
a tour of The Avenues and The
Lanes, it was The Courts that
caught their attention. The
couple was immediately impressed
with the floor plan of Model
755 at The Courts. Their home
is 2,165 square feet, with
three bedrooms, 2.5 baths,
owner's retreat, two fireplaces,
upstairs balcony, bonus room
and a rear-loaded, two-car
garage.
"These homes are just
very well done and the price
per square foot is excellent," said
Jim. "We had the opportunity
to see some of the homes during
the construction and development
process and they are really
well thought-out."
"What we like about this
home is that when the kids
are home, we have plenty of
room to spread out," said
Ann. "Our bonus room can
easily
double as an extra bedroom."
The Courts at Tapestry is
situated in a growing area
that is in high demand from
homebuyers. The area is equipped
with nearby schools, family
parks, casino resorts and easy
access to Highways 95 and 215.
The beauty and allure of The
Courts is that it's not just
a community, it's a lifestyle,
one that allows you to pursue
all of your hobbies and interests.
For Ann and Jim, that includes
golf, skiing, and sightseeing.
"We have everything right
here at our fingertips," said
Ann. "We have Mount Charleston
close by and last weekend we
visited the Valley of Fire."
The Courts at Tapestry also
boasts 3 large parks, with
3 pools, playgrounds, half-basketball
courts, water animals and paseos.
"When our son comes home
to visit, he is a big fan of
the basketball court and the
pool and I'm a fan of all the
golf courses we have nearby," said
James. "We are really
impressed with all this community
has to offer."
"It's the kind of neighborhood
where you can leave the windows
open at night, I just feel
very safe," said Ann. "It
also has very unique intergenerational
feel that we like."
'Active' is a prime word for
the Keiths' lifestyle, as they
are constantly on the go with
their respective careers and
interests. Previously owning
a maintenance-heavy home in
Texas, the Keiths are thrilled
with the prospect of a virtually
maintenance free home.
"As 'empty nesters,'
we don't want to be tied down
with a lot of maintenance on
our home," said Ann. "The
house we had in Texas had a
huge yard that took hours to
mow. We don't have to worry
about that with this home."
"The follow-up to the
sale was excellent," said
Jim. "Our contact person
was very cooperative and very
considerate to our time and
schedules."
"ASTORIA is
just 'Johhny-on-the-Spot' with
the Customer Care calls," Ann
adds. "They are really
quick and responsive."
All of the homes at The Courts
include ENERGY STAR® features.
ENERGY STAR is an EPA-approved
system that makes homes more
energy efficient, providing cost savings to the homeowner. ASTORIA HOMES,
which remains a 100% ENERGY STAR builder, was recently named 2005 ENERGY
STAR Partner of the Year by the EPA.
"We hadn't heard much
about the ENERGY STAR program
until we bought our home in
Las Vegas but it was a selling
point for us once we learned
more about it," said Jim. "We
have more square footage with
this home than we did with
our home in Texas, yet the
energy bills are still about
the same. Oftentimes, our water
bill is less than $10 a month."
ASTORIA HOMES recently
introduced three new model
homes at The Courts at Tapestry.
The new model homes up the
ante in what homeowners like
the Keiths come to expect from
The Courts -- modern, detail-oriented
and architecturally aesthetic
homes that require very little
maintenance.
"ASTORIA HOMES has
such a good reputation around
town and with the Better Business
Bureau," explains Jim. "We
know a realtor who commented
on how impressed he is with
some of the homes he has seen
from ASTORIA HOMES.
We have friends who have visited
our home and have expressed
interest in learning more about ASTORIA HOMES."
Las Vegas-based ASTORIA HOMES is
a homebuilder with communities
starting from the low $200,000s. ASTORIA HOMES is
developing several top-selling
local communities such as Independence,
The Courtyards at The Peaks
in the Southwest; Fields and
Prominence at
Aliante; The Lanes and The Avenues at Tapestry; Southern Hills in Henderson;
and Cornerstone, located at the base of Lone Mountain near
Summerlin. Communities on the horizon include Hillside and Providence in
the Northwest, and Mountains Edge in the Southwest.
