Homebuilder Raises Money
to Fight Diabetes
Employees of Las Vegas homebuilder ASTORIA HOMES™ participated
in the annual "Walk to Cure Diabetes" in
October and raised $10,000 for the Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation.
The amount was matched by
Tom McCormick, president of ASTORIA HOMES.
According to Rhonda Ramin,
captain for ASTORIA HOMES' "Walk
to Cure Diabetes" team, the team was
the largest corporate contributor to the
foundation's "Walk to Cure Diabetes" campaign,
with more than $32,000 raised and more
donations coming in.
ASTORIA HOMES has
been a corporate sponsor and an active
participant of the walk for the past six
years. This year's campaign raised about
four times the amount of money from last
year.
Teh "Walk to Cure Diabetes" is
a walkathon held in more than 200 locations
throughout the year to benefit the Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation.
Last year, the Walk raised
mor than $81 million, and this year's goal
is to surpass $86 million. For more information,
