Breakfast
Club Awarded for
Local Energy Efforts
The
Las Vegas Breakfast
Club was named an
Energy Star Partner
of the Year by the
US Environmental
Protection Agency
(EPA) for contributing
to the reduction
of greenhouse gas
emissions by building
and promoting energy
efficient homes.
The
group was recognized
by EPA Administrator
Christie Whitman
at an awards ceremony
in Washington, D.C.
in April.
The
Club is the steering
committee for a group
of Energy Star partners
in Las Vegas working
to increase consumer
awareness of homes
that meet or exceed
Energy Star's specifications
for energy efficiency.
Pulte Homes, Del
Webb, Astoria Homes,
Pardee Homes, Southern
Nevada Homes Guide
and Marketing Solutions
are all represented.
Energy
Star homes are significantly
more energy efficient
than homes built
to standard code.
Each home keeps 4,500
pounds of greenhouse
gases out of our
air every year
In
2001 alone, Energy
Star helped Americans
save enough energy
to power 10 million
homes and reduce
the air pollution
equivalent to taking
12 million cars off
the road - all the
while saving consumers
$6 billion.
"Pulte
Homes is pleased
to be part of the
program as well as
The Las Vegas Breakfast
Club that was responsible
for developing last
year's campaign that
increased awareness
of Energy Star homes
in the Las Vegas
market by ten percent," said
Christie Stratton,
director of marketing
for Pulte Homes.
"We
are proud to be associated
with a new generation
of homes that are
better for homeowners
and the planet as
well as such an elite
group of industry
professionals working
together for such
an important cause."
Pulte
Homes has had a long-standing
commitment to building
energy efficient
homes in Southern
Nevada. In fact,
100 percent of Pulte
Homes built since
1999 are Energy Star
Labeled homes.
