Astoria Homes’ ‘100
Percent Home Package’ Ideal for
First-Time Home Buyers
(Las Vegas) – The
small details of buying a new home can
be overwhelming. Just ask David Mikowski,
a first-time homeowner at Astoria Homes’ Silverado
Place, situated in the heart of Silverado
Ranch in Las Vegas.
“We looked at
different home models in several communities
around the valley,” said Mikowski,
a blackjack dealer at the Paris. “There
were so many little things to consider,
like the set up of the yard and landscaping.
Those were the reasons we chose this
house.”
Each Silverado Place house includes the “100 percent home package,” equipped
with Whirlpool® appliances, installed blinds, fully landscaped house fronts
and sides, and quaint front courtyards.
“I liked the idea
of moving into a new home that was ready
to be lived in,” said Mikowski. “I
didn’t want to order appliances
and wait for them to be delivered or
undertake a lot of expensive yard work.”
The 100 percent home
package is offered in every home in Silverado
Place, the first Astoria Homes community
in the “Triumph Neighborhoods” series.
The Triumph communities will all feature
quality homes for the first-time homebuyer,
including all the amenities of other
homes but at a significantly lower price
point. Next month, models will open at
Astoria’s newest Triumph community
of Independence, located at Warm Springs
Road, west of Durango.
Mikowski and roommate
Tobie Romzek agreed their new house includes
features they would not find in other
homes geared toward first-time buyers.
“We have a step-in
entrance with an archway,” said
Mikowski. “It reminds me of something
that would be found in a larger, more
expensive home. It’s one of the
things I like best about this house.”
Energy efficient features
are also among the list of favorites
at Silverado Place. The homes are Energy
Star labeled, with improved insulation,
advanced windows, highly efficient heating
and air conditioning, tightly sealed
ducts and reduced air infiltration. Energy
Star homes are 30 percent more efficient,
providing lower utility bills and less
environmental pollution.
Like most Astoria Homes
homeowners, Mikowski and Romzek immediately
noticed a difference in their utility
bills.
“Our utility costs for the house are lower than they were for the apartment
we lived in,” said Romzek. “We can keep the air conditioner on at
a lower temperature and be comfortable day and night. We also noticed that the
house doesn’t get as dusty as the apartment did.”
Mikowski’s house is adjacent to one of two swimming pools in Silverado
Place. The community also features picturesque parks, delightful playgrounds
and covered picnic areas.
“Many families
with young children live here, since
the property caters to many first-time
homebuyers,” said Mikowski. “The
neighborhood is still very quiet though.
We live next to the pool but rarely hear
much noise from there.”
He added, “We
made a great investment with this house.
It’s a safe and peaceful neighborhood
in a good location where we’re
close to schools, stores and church.
It has everything we were looking for.”
Astoria’s other
communities include: Ironwood Estates
in Centennial Hills; Auburn Hills, Canyon
Trails and Independence in the Southwest;
and Villa Villagio in Seven Hills. The
