Astoria
Homes Is Finalist in First
Time Ever Category Of
Best News Release to Television
Station for Women in Communications'
Electronic Media Awards
Held on October 23, 1998
at Treasure Island
Astoria
Homes was the only developer
or homebuilder among the
finalists in the 1998
Electronic Media Awards
hosted by Women In Communications
on October 23, 1998 at
the Treasure Island. While
Astoria didn't take home
the award, just being
nominated was an honor
unto itself.
Astoria
Homes' nomination was
for the KLAS coverage
of their 1997 Homer Award
"Home of the Year"
Sunset design at Summer
Heights. In response to
winning the Homer Award,
Astoria pitched the story
to the local CBS affiliate
in early 1998, when mortgage
rates were at a then 'all-time
low'. Reporter Anita Lightfoot
toured the winning model
for a morning newscast
and interviewed Astoria
Homes President Tom McCormick.
Public Relations
for Astoria Homes is handled
by P.R. Plus in conjunction
with Astoria Homes' Marketing
Manager Lana Butterfield.
