Astoria Homes Sets Standard of Community Giving

Astoria Homes, best known for Award winning homes, has found yet another way to give to the Las Vegas community.

On Friday, May 15th, Astoria Homes President Tom McCormick challenged KVBC Channel 3 Sports Reporter Brian Lippai to an accuracy pitching competition at Cashman Field, only moments before the Las Vegas Stars game. The goal of the competition was to see who could get the most (out of ten) baseballs through the "window" on the Astoria Homes billboard first and make a donation to charity. Even with guidance from some Las Vegas Stars players, Tom McCormick succeeded in getting the only baseball through the "window".

For winning the challenge, Astoria Homes donated $1,000 to Tom's charity of choice, the Holy Family Day Care Center. In addition, Astoria Homes also made a donation to Brian's charity of choice, the Society of Prevention against Cruelty to Animals.

This marked the first time that Brian's sports challenge donated needed funds to a non-profit organization.
