Astoria Homes Wins Five 1997 Homer Awards
Astoria Homes took home honors when they won five 1997
Homer Awards. Out of 18 categories and 115 homes entered, Astoria Homes
claimed five first place trophies.
The winners included Summer Heights-The Sunset-Best Single family detached
home (1,551-2,000 square feet), Silverado Heights-The Bluffs-Best Single
family detached home (1,700-2,400 square feet), Silverado Heights-The
Crest-Best Single family detached home (2,200-2,900 square feet), Summer
Heights-Best project logo, Summer Heights-The Sunset-Best Home of the
Year and Silverado Heights-The Canyon-Finalist-Best Single family detached
home (2,600-3,200 square feet).
Some distinctive features that make Astoria Homes such victors are:
Grand Double Door Entries, Separate Tubs and Showers, Double Sinks in
Master Bath Vanities, Ceramic Tile Entryways, Honey Oak Cabinetry, Soaring
Volume Ceilings and more.
Any member of the Southern Nevada Homebuilder's Association may enter
the Homer Awards. The judging takes three days, in which the judges
look over the property portfolios and visit the home sites.
Homer Awards are the highest honor bestowed on local homebuilders and
winning five awards is a great feat, unheard of for new, growing homebuilders.
