ASTORIA HOMES recognized
as one of the region's TOP PRIVATELY
HELD BUILDERS by BUILDERnews magazine!
August 10, 2006
Dear Mr. McCormick:
CONGRATULATIONS!
Our research
for this year's selection looked
at
several criteria including
years in business,
company reputation, size
of projects and growth projections.
Final
selection was broken down
by
state and focused on 2005
revenue figures.
We at BUILDERnews
recognize the overall competitiveness
of the industry and acknowledge
the difficulties privately held
companies face when competing
against large production builders.
Please accept
this plaque in honor of this
recognition of your success,
as we invite you to read the
accompanying July article announcing
our selection on page 46.
Best regards,
JoAnn Hogue,

Celebrating
the West’s Top Privately
Held Builders and Developers
For the first
time ever, BN is proud to raise
a toast to the Top Privately
Held Builders and Developers in the Western Region! The data presented
below is accurate to the very best of our ability to gather it. And let us
tell you,
it was no small feat to do so, with endless hours of research, phone calls,
last minute
changes, and assurances all along that we would let the data speak for
itself, and not editorialize on it. We felt we owed it to you to keep it pure.
Since the rankings
are based on total company
revenue, the challenge to
create the list was immediate. After all, unlike publicly held builders, private
companies have no obligation whatsoever to offer up this data. We think it
speaks highly of their dedication and pride that they did, and we want to thank
each of them for their participation.
But in addition,
we believe there’s something
here for our entire readership
to gain, in recognizing that every one of these companies was, at one point,
small. Over time, they have grown and learned, and made a tremendous mark
on the landscape, quite literally. Surely all seasoned builders have some encouragement
and advice they could offer to others who march in the same infantry,
and we challenge you to take a few moments to log in to our Reader Forum to
do just that (buildernewsmag.com/forums).
All
efforts have been made
to ensure chart accuracy;
however, we cannot be held
liable for errors or omissions.
